STP: A Family of Faith

We are a family of faith connected to our history, neighborhood, and each other.

St. Peter’s is a small, multi-generational and racially diverse congregation in the East End that is quick to welcome anyone who comes in our doors.

We are growing through Sunday worship and fellowship time; our twice monthly food distribution; Bible studies, and other outreach to our Church Hill neighbors.  During the pandemic, we worshipped by Zoom but our in person worship resumed at 11AM on Easter Day 2022 and is live-streamed on Facebook.

God continues to remind us in the day to day challenges of our time that our lives are in God's hands.  Please come and join us.  You are welcome both virtually and in person.

The gifts he gave were that some would be apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, some pastors and teachers, to equip the saints for the work of ministry, for building up the body of Christ, until all of us come to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to maturity, to the measure of the full stature of Christ.

Meet Our Clergy

We are currently in transition between priests and are blessed to have celebrants and preachers to worship with us until we have a permanent replacement.

Our Vocational Deacon is The Reverend Deacon Karla Westfall Hunt. She was ordained in September of 2018 as a vocational deacon after 30+ years as a lay member at St. John’s Episcopal Church. She is a retired geologist with two adult daughters and a granddaughter. She is also the leader of the pack of two lab mix "pound puppies."

Deacon Karla has served at St. Peter’s since August 2019. She participates in our food distribution program, pastoral care, as well as community outreach in Church Hill and beyond. She and fellow Deacon Christine Garcia sit on the corner at 22nd and X Streets each Wednesday morning from 10-11, offering Prayers to Go.

Please see the Deacon's Corner under the Worship tab to keep up with Deacon Karla's ministries.
