STP: A Family of Faith
We are a family of faith connected to our history, neighborhood, and each other.
St. Peter’s is a small, multi-generational and racially diverse congregation in the East End that is quick to welcome anyone who comes in our doors.
We are growing through Sunday worship and fellowship time; our twice monthly food distribution; Bible studies, and other outreach to our Church Hill neighbors. During the pandemic, we worshipped by Zoom but our in person worship resumed at 11AM on Easter Day 2022 and is live-streamed on Facebook. God continues to remind us in the day to day challenges of our time that our lives are in God's hands. Please come and join us. You are welcome both virtually and in person. The gifts he gave were that some would be apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, some pastors and teachers, to equip the saints for the work of ministry, for building up the body of Christ, until all of us come to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to maturity, to the measure of the full stature of Christ.

Meet Our Clergy
The Reverend Bill Queen is our new Vicar. He is from Jacksonville FL and worked in business before attending Virginia Theological Seminary. He has served Pohick Church Lorton, St Paul’s Jacksonville Beach FL, St Barnabas’ Chesterfield, All Saints Richmond, Trinity Washington, Christ and Grace Petersburg, Christ Church Spotsylvania, St Paul’s Richmond, Grace and Holy Trinity Richmond, and St Stephen’s Petersburg. He was Interim Rector at the last six parishes. He has taught at the Osher Institute of the University of Richmond.
His wife, Lynn Ellen, owns Queen and Associates, a leadership development consulting firm. Bill and Lynn Ellen have lived in Richmond since 1997, and in Church Hill since 2016. They have three adult children. He has been involved in the Richmond area ministries of Peter Paul, Richmond Hill, Micah, Habitat for Humanity, CARITAS, and St. Andrew’s School. He has a long familiarity with St. Peter’s, worshiping here for special services, on Zoom during Covid, and supplying here on Palm Sunday.
Bill’s personal mission is to grow daily in awe and wonder of the mystery of God, Christ, and the Holy Spirit at work in him and in others. He responds to this mission with creativity, enthusiasm, humor, and faith. He seeks to help individuals, families, churches, and their neighbors grow in their faith, reach out into the larger community, and revitalize their commitment to ministry. Bill is humbled by the opportunity to partner with St Peter’s to discern new opportunities for the church’s growth in ministry and in mission.
Our Vocational Deacon is The Reverend Deacon Karla Westfall Hunt. She was ordained in September of 2018 as a vocational deacon after 30+ years as a lay member at St. John’s Episcopal Church. She is a retired geologist with two adult daughters and a granddaughter.
Deacon Karla has served at St. Peter’s since August 2019. She participates in our food distribution program, pastoral care, as well as community outreach in Church Hill and beyond.
