New Member Classes beginning soon!
As you know, March 2020 was the time when all of our lives changed. Pandemic and COVID-19 became a part of our vocabulary. Our understanding of church as a gathering place expanded. We are grateful to God that things are as well as they are as we pray to move forward. I am aware that there were those of you who were set to become members of St. Peter’s with the Bishop’s visit as a time when that rite would be affirmed. I need to hear from you. I am planning New Member classes and need to know how many will need classes as well as whether or not there are any children or teens in that number. If you desire/hope to be received into the Episcopal church and please be in touch with me. You may call or email and I will be in touch. We are currently scheduled for Bishop Susan’s visit on Sunday, November 28, 2021. I need to get the New Member Curriculum finalized. Candidates to be received should be doing so as: A. Confirmation: Candidates who are baptized (at any age) and now wish to express a mature public affirmation of their faith, recommit themselves to the responsibilities of their baptism, and receive laying on of hands by a bishop. This includes persons confirmed in any denomination other than those listed below*. B. Reception: Candidates who have already been Confirmed in one of the denominations listed below* who wish to be received into the fellowship of The Episcopal Church and the Anglican Communion. C. Reaffirmation: Candidates who have returned from a time of religious inactivity or wish to publicly recommit themselves to an active practice of faith. D. Denominations appropriate for Reception into The Episcopal Church: Another province of the Anglican Communion The Orthodox Church The Roman Catholic Church The Evangelical Lutheran Church in America The Old Catholic Church The Philippine Independent Church The Mar Thoma Syrian Church of Malabar The Moravian Church in America |
We are a family of faith, connected to our history, our neighborhood, and to one another.
